3MC
The lab L2MIAS organizes in collaboration with the research entity called “Pure and Applied Analytics” (from North West University in South Africa) a series of Mini Courses in Mathematical Modeling (3MC) (http://natural-sciences.nwu. ac.za/paa/3MC). These courses have been designed to address the challenges seen in Africa. The main objectives are:
– Equip postgraduate students and early researchers with modeling skills (in various disciplines) and fundamental mathematical tools used in analysis
– Promote collaborations between African researchers in applied mathematics
– Provide a platform for interactions and support
– Initiate a dialogue on how mathematical modeling can be promoted to solve socio-economic problems in Africa.
The goal is to demystify and popularize the use of mathematics to respond to socio-economic problems (epidemic diseases, climate change, pollution, etc.), and to promote the development of mathematical modeling in African institutions. This objective will be achieved through mini-course sessions every four months per year (online and/or on campus). The purpose of the online course is to allow a wide audience to benefit from the training on various topics.
Interested participants can apply for the following courses:
